Afrikaans: keiser, from Latin: caesar (emperor) + -ana (related to); in honor of Friedrich Keiser, a Swiss entomologist and dipterist who made significant contributions to the taxonomy of Afrotropical insects, particularly the hoverflies (Syrphidae) of Madagascar
